The quality of wines world-wide is being affected by climate change and critics and judges are already noticing the changes.
That is the consensus from a world conference on climate change and wine in Europe.
An Australian speaker at the conference, Dr Richard Smart, says industry leaders are already planning for big shifts in varieties grown in established wine regions.
"You've got a situation where a region that's developed a reputation, let's say Coonawarra, over a hundred years or so, or some of the European regions over many hundred years, will potentially lose that reputation," he said.

Of course, it would not be the prolonged drought...
Of course, it would not be the prolonged drought that could be affecting 'wine quality' in [Australia]. Seems the attempt to platform reports of a 'consensus opinion ' on 'climate change' is far more active than actually making any valid determinations of the REALITY of 'unnatural climate change'.
Natural change is simply what Humanity needs to deal with and adapt, not 'whine about its wine'.
Dear, dear, some 'regions' might 'loose reputation' for 'wine quality'. Perhaps it is that [Australia] is not that good a place for the work of the vintner, if one is more interested in 'reputation', whilst "Western" concepts have ONLY seen [Australia] for the purposes of 'inference' within a period of ~250 years.
