Protest Greenpeace pro-privatization tour in MA/USA!

I've just returned to the mainland from Martha's Vineyard where Greenpeace was holding its "Wind Tour" of the Cape & Islands
(see: http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/about/ships/witness-2/witness-tour-schedul... )

Like their pro-corporate publicity says: "Join us in supporting America's first offshore wind farm", which of course is Cape Wind, the ill-conceived industrial wind farm proposed for our relatively pristine Nantucket Sound. Cape Wind is the right project in the WRONG place. It will privatize the commons (the public waters of Nantucket Sound) and make its corporate backers rich while trashing the public commons. Also, if its way ugly transformers are ever destroyed by a storm it could dump tens of thousands of gallons of oil into the Sound, coating birds' feathers, destroying their health and mobility and polluting the aquatic environment.[ For more info see: http://www.saveoursound.org/ ]

Greenpeace has once again tarnished its reputation fronting for corporate America and attacking well respected environmentalists like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. who came out against Cape Wind in a New York Times op-ed piece See: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/16/opinion/16kennedy.html?ex=1292389200&e...
These "environmentalists" and others are using the same hostile corporate tactics on Cape Wind opponents that corporations have used on them in the past. They must be confronted for their complicity in the corporate privatization of America and playing god squad with the wildlife of Nantucket Sound.

"Modern" Wind Energy

"Modern" Wind Energy Collectors, in basic mechanical principles, are the same as the machine rented by Nicholas from the Knights Templars in E.Yorkshire in 1185 - a fan, a gearbox, and some driven equipment. True all the parts today have been thoroughly developed along "modern" lines, but the basic technology remains the same.
It may even go back to that used by "the slave skilled in the manufacture of windmills" who slew Sultan Omar of Baghdad in 635 AD.
There is a most important point covered in the URL below, which applies to contra rotation, vertical or horizental axis.

This is the removal of the massive "stress concentration system" of a conventional WEC, where all energy is transmitted to one central shaft, and one set of gearing.

The matter is fully discussed, with figures, in the URL below
