2009 Biketour: Feel the heat!

The Biketour - the project for everyone interested in do-it-yourself (”diy”) environmentalism, culture, nature, community life and the art of travelling without engines - the exact opposite of an all-inclusive flight to the beach!

Moving all our stuff by sheer pedal power, we create an eco-mobile community building up strong connections between participants coming from different cultures and groups, as well as between ourselves and our hosts.

7th of July 2009 we will start cycling from Macedonia to Croatia, crossing Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. We plan to start our tour on the Belgrade-Skopje train(!), and we will reach the MuM festival in Croatia, 28th of August.

Biketour2009 * 06. July - 28. August * Western Balkans * FEEL THE HEAT!

The 19th edition of Biketour will take place this summer through the
western Balkans. Welcome to join us on actions and tour through
Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, and a
kick off bike ride alias 'masse critique' in Belgrade. Registration
deadline set for 19th of June - roll along!

The Biketour is an international mobile community that each summer
comes together in a different part of Europe.  It is based on 'do it
yourself -diy- environmental activism'  which means so much as that
knowledge, decision making and work-to-do is shared among participants,

The Climate Summit is coming up in Copenhagen in December 2009; here the
world’s politicians and business leaders will be deciding a new climate
deal for our future. We need to make sure these talks do not end in weak
carbon trading schemes, private rights to the world’s forests and big
handouts to big business.

The task of the Zero Carbon Caravan is to take the demand for 'a Zero
Carbon World, as fast as we can' all the way to the Summit by travelling
there completely ‘zero carbon’ – using cycles, sailing ships and kayaks,

U.S.: Earth First! Roadshow on tour!

The need for resistance in solidarity with the wild has never been louder or clearer than it is today; the Earth First! Roadshow is a great tool for cultivating resistance. There are countless examples to draw from in the story of radical movements before us: militant labor organizing tours, anti-fascist resistance recruitment and international speaking tours to build cross-border solidarity. The origin of Earth First! is credited to a few roadshows that kicked it all off in the early 1980s. We are building on this tradition; akin to a fellowship crossing Middle Earth to amass insurgents to face Mordor head-on.
