Monday, December 7, 2009, the Caravan Climate & Social Justice made a stop in Brussels. The Caravan go from the WTO Summit in Geneva to the COP-15 in Copenhagen. 30 activists from the South are currently traveling through Europe via Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany and Denmark. They draw attention to the consequences of neoliberal globalization and climate change on their lives.

Call to the Climate Agriculture Action Day December 15th, 2009

As scientific predictions of climate catastrophe continue to grow, world leaders gather in Copenhagen on 7-18 December 2009 at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) - and the world waits for action. The people are ready to change the world in order to save it - but so far government solutions have revolved around setting up market mechanisms to avoid making real changes – and the climate crisis continues to grow.

From Alphington to Warrawong, Broome to Wagga, Townsville to St Helens
thousands of people across Australia attended a diverse variety of over
175 different climate action events calling on politicians to set the
target for CO2 emissions to 350 parts per million (ppm) for a
reasonable chance of avoiding dangerous climate change. CO2 emissions
are already at 387ppm so we need to have negative emissions through
active programs to draw down and stabilise carbon from the atmosphere.

     Coinciding with the 3 Rivers Climate Convergence and an array of groups responding to the G20 meeting in Pittsburgh, PA, is the festival of Navaratri September 19-28.  During Navaratri (the word literally means "nine nights") is the worship of the Divine Mother, in her various aspects, cultivating with the Vijaya Dasami day, which marks the triumphant ovation of the soul at having attained liberation while living in this world.  This day celebrates the spiritual victory, the achievement of the goal. Indeed, the banner of victory flies aloft!

Three Rivers Climate Convergence, Pittsburgh, Sept. 20-25

This September the fossil fuel industry and
their political supporters are descending on Pittsburgh to put a green
face on global capitalism.  These meetings amongst the world
superpowers whose failed policies are responsible for the global
economic, environmental and human rights crises, will be met by global
citizens who know we need to do things differently.  We'll break
through and demand real, localized and community-based solutions that
come from the 6 billion people of the earth, not 20 heads of state.

The
Three Rivers Climate Convergence will be held September 20-25th in
Schenley Park, located in the heart of Oakland, Pittsburgh's student
