U.S.: Greenpeace promotes privatization in Wind Rush

Greenpeace is emailing its membership in the service of Cape
Wind, a for-profit company seeking to erect a massive industrial wind plant in
the public waters of Nantucket Sound off the Massachusetts coast. The message
asks supporters to notify the Bush regime-headed Minerals Management Service of
their support for Cape Wind during the present public comment

Get ready for the Wind Rush

It has been labelled the Wind Rush by certain parts of the press, and like it or not, it seems to be headed to the UK.

The implementation of wind farms is the government’s latest environmental pet project and recent news coming from Brussels has highlighted the increasing need for wind power in the UK.

The real solution to climate change: nuclear vs renewables/efficieny

A short film on nuclear power vs renewables and efficiency.

New report calls for Reality check’ on biofuels

Paris, 3 July 2007. For immediate release. The rush for ‘biofuels’ is already causing serious damage, according to a new report by 11 civil society organisations from around the world.

Agrofuels – towards a reality check in nine key areas sets out considerable evidence that the spread of what are more accurately called ‘agrofuels’ – liquid fuels produced from biomass grown in large-scale monocultures, mostly in the global south – is compromising biodiversity and fuelling human rights violations.

The Asian Destruction Bank?

When one of Asia’s leading institutions says it’s serious about funding the solutions to climate change that makes us happy. But when we discover that this commitment goes no further than a glossy brochure, we can't let that pass.
