Sumatra: Indigenous villagers burned-out to make way for bogus "climate protection" plantation
Posted 12月 28th, 2008 by tribalscribalCategories:
The forced displacement of indigenous and forest-dependent communities to make
way for industrial tree plantations is on the rise. With the inclusion of
forests in the carbon market and the elimination of any reference to indigenous
rights from the UN's Reducing Emissions from Deforestation in Developing
Countries agreement that came out of the last UN Climate Convention in Poznan,
we can expect to see even more forced displacements--this time to supposedly
"protect" forests. [from Global Justice Ecology]

I never thought I'd write an email like this. I never thought that members of the U.S. Climate Emergency Council staff would be spied on by the Maryland State Police as we peacefully and legally promote windmills and solar panels!!
